Road to the Marathon, Part Dos

In a little over an hour, I’m going to start running my very first 10k!!! I’m getting more and more nervous as time passes, but I think it’s going to be a good run. I could NOT get to sleep last night, so despite taking 1 1/2 sleeping pills at 7:00p, I was awake until almost 1 and was up this morning at 5:15a.

This is “Road to the Marathon, part dos” for Sarah Austin and I. We ran our 5k (3.1 miles) in March, we are running this 10k (6.2 miles) today, there’s the Bass Pro Half-marathon (13.1 miles) in November (November 4th, to be exact, if you are planning on cheering us on!), and we’ll run a full marathon (26.2 miles) in early- to mid-spring 2008. After our illustrious running tour, we’re planning some shorter, fun runs in our home towns. :)

Over and out: gotta get suited up for the race!

**update**
Done! 1 hour, 15 minutes, and 12 seconds, which is a 12’08” minute per mile pace. We had been running 12’30″s lately, although we did do a tempo run and aimed for 11’30” (Sarah hit 11’02” and I did 11’21”) this week. So anyway, I’m pretty proud of the pace I ran, although I did walk more than I planned to. :(
