I like reading the blog A Welsh View because it highlights the weird of the world. I like seeing things come across my gReader that make me laugh. This one was a doozy.
Cheeseburger in a Can? Seriously? Upon closer inspection, I noticed a word I learned during Christmas at Berlin while watching Tatort, a rather popular Sunday night show here in Deutschland. That word is “Malzeit” (see it there, on the can?). It’s kind of like “Have a nice lunch!”
So I click on the link at the end of every A Welsh View post that takes you to the original site. Yep. “Cheeseburger in a Can” is being sold at a German website. LOL. Why do I not believe it looks that good when it comes out of the can?

Oh, LifeStudent… I think I have discovered what Germany will offer if it isn’t going to be the beer capital of the world. This article discusses a potential… uh… thing Deutschland could become famous for. Let’s hope it doesn’t surpass beer in popularity.

I have not noticed it being less socially acceptable, that’s for sure! Plus, after this studya that found beer replenishes many of the nutrients lost during a workout better than water, perhaps those Germans who are concerned about the health aspect will have a change of heart. Beer is too much a part of Germany’s heritage and culture for it to stop being Bierland, don’t worry! :)

In the Chicago Red Eye today they had an article about how beer sales / consumption is down in Germany. They say its a combo of two things: 1) increases in desire for health and fitness and 2) the fact that binge drinking is becoming less commonplace and more socially unacceptable. If Germany isn’t going to be the beer capital of the world, what can it offer? Please dont tell me its “cheesburger in a can” :)
