@sarah jo: Glad you liked it. Be sure to read this post again at the end of December... I am too deep into Google. I like the control I get for free...

@kevin: I'm glad you enjoyed it, too. Thanks again for writing! And I'll see your "Yikes" and raise you an "OW."

@beth: I'm so glad to hear that it was indeed inspiring. You'll be able to run more in a year or so! :)

@frayed laces: Glad you liked it! And I'm honored you were able to be a part of it. Thanks again!

@michelle j: I'm happy to hear you found inspiration here! I might be starting my own 30-day runathon soon.

@jamoosh: I hadn't heard that advice before. Both pieces are very good. One thing I seem to have forgotten to put in my race report, but on the way in to Berlin on race day, I wasn't nervous. I felt pretty peaceful, I think because I felt confident in my training. Later, right before the starting gun when I was nervous, I just remembered that peace and confidence I felt. It really calmed me down.

I hope someday I'll be able to say I've run 8 marathons! And I like the idea of so many halves in a year.... Goals, goals, goals... :)

After running eight marathons and five half marathons in a year (2006), the best advice I can give is to always remember what got you to the starting line, because that is what will get you to the finish line (hopefully this is not the first time you have heard this).

The second best piece of advice I can give you is to take it all in at the starting line, but do not get overwhelmed. Take your time during the first few miles even if that means forcing yourself to run with some slower runners. You'll have plenty of time to get into your groove and will be better prepared for the last few miles of the race.

That was great, Linden! Great idea, too!

It inspired me to do more, be more dedicated to whatever I do in life, and of course to RUN MORE! This being easier said than done in Guate... :)
