@Daniel Hargett – What would you use your own domain for?? I’m curious. Same for Shelby! Isn’t it funny–If we had told Mom and Dad at 7 that we wanted “our own domain”, they would have thought we were being cheeky. :D

I would spend it on my own domain. I would’ve answered that question differently 6 months ago, but I’m ready now,just no moolah to do it with. Shelby wants her own site too, and we’ve come up with some great ideas for it, I’d like to do that too

@ww – It does take up a lot of time… but it has been a fun project for the evenings for me. It doesn’t feel like “work” since it’s for me. Plus, there are lots of great templates out there for getting a good looking site up quick. Sarah actually uses Wordpress as a CMS for her church’s site. You could do that to create your professional site, although it would require two installations of Wordpress if you want one for your blog and one for your site… Hmm… complicated. Yeah, maybe you should spend your birthday money on something else! :)

Well, I do get free web hosting through my university as long as I don’t exceed the size limit… but lately, especially now that I’m applying for jobs, there is much more allure to having my own domain. However, I am so busy lately that I can’t see myself completely creating my new website and completing my CV and doing all the other stuff that I want to do before job application deadlines. So I think I’d spend my birthday money on something else.

Since this post was WAY too technical for a comment, I’ll answer the QOTD:

I’d rather buy a vice (Starbucks coffee was an excellent option, Lindy!) because I don’t know enough about owning/needing a domain (hence why I cannot understand the majority of this post). :) I’d rather drink coffee coffee coffee!! MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm now I’m just thirsty!
