I love the new year. Taking that 2009 calendar down and replacing it with a fresh, brand new 2010 one feels like embarking on a new adventure, and the best adventures often begin by saying, “I think I’m going to…”
As I begin the adventure of 20-10, I am going to try to do three things. The first is for my own sanity, productivity, and self-discipline. The second is for the most important connections in my life. The third, well, actually it is personal and I won’t be publishing it here. Suffice it to say that if I follow through with reso número tres, I’ll deal with an personal demon that can be a Time/Emotional Sink itself and that I have just recently begun to understand as a personal demon.
Without further ado, here are my 2010 resolutions
- I am mindful and I stay present and focused on the task at hand. I do not log in to my Time Sinks (Gmail, Facebook, Wikipedia etc) during working times.
- I send birthday cards/eCards to all family (at least parents, siblings, nieces/nephew, grandparents, aunts/uncles, and cousins).
- [redacted] (Incidentally, I have always wanted to use that word. It’s one of my favorite words.)
What are your 2010 resolutions? Remember, use the present tense to convince your brain that you are already in the habit of doing them, and repeat them to yourself often!
