2011 New Year’s Resolutions: February Update

Last month, I made some resolutions, some goals. I stated changes I want to make in my life (note: I did not say “changes to be made in my life”). Whatever you want to call them, I call them improvements. And the cold, hard truth is this:

If you want your life to change, you must change your life.

Here are my goals:

2011 New Year’s Resolutions

I always bask in the feeling of a dawning year; it’s quite similar to the beginning of a new semester… a brand new notebook, each page waiting to be written on with brand new pens. A clean back-pack that will be a silent, dependable partner during classes and late-night study sessions. Books without scuffs or [...]

2010 New Year’s Resolutions

As I begin the adventure of 20-10, I am going to try to do three things. The first is for my own sanity, productivity, and self-discipline. The second is for the most important connections in my life. The third, well, actually it is

2009 New Year’s Resolution

I love the beginning of a new year because it’s, well, a fresh start. Really, we just change the number of the year we’re in, January 1 is just the day after December 31, just like January 2 is just the day after January 1, but we have celebrated the beginning of this new year for a long time, so I don’t feel silly for enjoying the newness of it.

2008 New Year’s Resolutions: First Quarter Update

I have decided that 2008 is going to be The Year of Change for Me. I made many personal improvements in 2007, but now that I’m smarter about changes, I can focus on the changes that I want to make and make them. But I’m a hardcore perfectionist, and I don’t like making mistakes and I don’t like failing.

I am regularly hand rewriting my resolutions. With each rewrite, I update. I make minor changes based on the current progress. I add new resolutions incrementally, in small steps so that I can achieve them. I feel good about my progress so far, and I look forward to your encouragement, suggestions, and more improvement in the next quarter.

2008 New Year’s Resolutions

I love the new year. I love all of the symbolism that comes with seeing “January 01″ on the calendar. I made a lot of changes to my life in 2007: Around April, I discovered LifeOrganizers.com and it kick-started my organizational drive. Unlike my previous attempts at becoming organized, this one actually stuck. Moving to [...]

New Years Resolutions

Looking back over the past year with the future year in mind kinda like balancing in the middle of a see-saw. What have I learned that I should apply to the coming year? What have I forgotten as the year transpired that I need to remember? Here are my resolutions. Hold me to ‘em! Daily [...]
